Background
Fremont ALPR Policy
Fremont Police Department states that they deployed ALPRs to protect community members due to the majority of offenders being nonresidents of the city and to reduce crime rates. Their website states that video recordings are stored on a secure server and that information is saved for 30 days before being purged. Since FPD follows the NCRIC ALPR Policy, law enforcement must verify the vehicle and a subject’s identity before coming into contact with them.
